Want to buy an aquatic turtle. What do I need to know/do?

Hi guys. I'm thinking about buying an aquatic turtle. Never had one before, and I'm a little intimidated. Any suggestions, or anything I need to know? Also, any suggestions on what type of turtle to get would be great and where to get them.
