adult and a juvenile ball python living together?
ive recently aquired a giant handbuilt terrarium, they told me it is 250-300gal large. i have a juvenile BP, about 2ft long yet i want another [if not more...] and i would rather adopt another animal than buy one from the petstore. more than likly, ill find an adult BP if i look for one at our local reptile rescue people. so, if they were both female persay,
could the two live together wihtout condradiction?
should i let them assosiate a bit before actually leaving them alone first?
should i just forget it, and buy another juvenile?
Ball pythons should only be put together to breed them. However being that you have a rather large enclosure it might be possible for you to section it off in to two or three different areas. When housed together continuously one snake will dominate the other and keep it from the best heat and hiding spots. Another issue with keeping them together is that the larger BP may eat the smaller one. This has happened several times to people that insist their snakes are friends and want to be together. When a BP eats another BP there is the possibility of the bigger snake dying as well. I am pasting a link to a very good site about just this topic.

This woman has raised and bred BPs for years as have I. Most responsible breeders will tell you the same things I have.
