is it bad to cover ALL sides of a Reptile Cage?

i own a savannah monitor, and i notice.. he HATES me. and i understand that, he is TERRIFIED every time he sees me.. and i dont want him stressed out.. i want him to feel he can roam out in the open without having to worry about predictors.

so as of right now his cage has three completely solid brown sides. and one side has two black lines going through it * power cords*

would it be better to cover it with pictures?
is it bad for them to cover ALL veiw?

the ONLY thing he sees now is three different lights and ME when i feed him and take him out once a week to clean his cage..

is this a good or bad plan?

thank you for your info :)
after reading that first answers.. i think it's important that only people that OWN and know things about savs to answer this question.

It's not a bad thing to cover all sides of your sav's enclosure while he continues to adjust. A lot of monitor keepers use the trough enclosures so the lizards in those have no view.

I'm glad to hear you are allowing him to settle in and that you are trying to give him a stress free existence!! ~Yay~

Hopefully you are following the advice that was issued by experienced keepers regarding substrate, diet, and temps and are starting on his custom enclosure.
