dehydrated veiled chameleon?
my chameleon wont drink now his eyes are shutting tried every thing showers, i spray his cage 3 x a day, he has a humidifier, main water is a drip system wanted to take him to a vet but no vets around hear deal with reptiles closet is 4 hrs away talked to the pet store they just say shower him and i tried to get him water by a seringe any ideas he ate yesterday but really worried if he cant see he wont and i dont want him to die
Are you sure hes dehydrated? With all the procedures your using to keep the humidity up it seems strange that he wouldnt take advantage of one of them. Its possible he just gets stressed out when your near and so doesnt do anything but close his eyes and try to hide. More than likely he is taking water from the dripper system when your not around. Chams also can get some hydration from the insects they eat. Sounds like hes still eating normally. Maybe just give the 4hr away vet a call and explain what symptoms you think your cham has and ask them what they think and if they have any advise.
