Reptile Heat Bulb

April 23rd, 2010  |  Published in Reptiles

how far should my reptiles bulb be from the vivariums floor ?

does any one know how far my heat bulbs should be from the floor?
its for a leopard gecko and the bulb is a Zoo Med, 60 w - i think its is anyway. thanks!

Ignore the people going on about temps and basking - it should only be used to help distinguish daytime from night time.

You should use the lowest wattage available which would be 40W.

Just put it as high as you can.

Mine is against the roof of my enclosure, about 18 inches up from the floor.

You should be heating the tank with a heat mat.

The light needs to go off in the evening.
