Reptile Heat Lamp Fixture

Where do I put the halgen lamp?
I bought a Reptile Fixture, and a halogen bulb for my 7 months red eared slider. Can you place the halogen lamp close to the turtle? People told me halogen bulb are very hot. They can heat from 28-30degree(celcius). I'm new in halogen.
I need a little help, so I won't shot my turtle with mistakes placing the halogen lamp in a wrong position, or something.

I have a Zoo Med brand 75w repti halogen bulb. Are they good?
it's supposed to be hot, but not too hot, the temperatures need to be 85-98F. This can be achieved if you buy a 75 watt, and place it 5-6 inches away from the basking area. You must buy a thermometer to check the temperatures, and see if they are too hot, or not hot enough. you must maintain the right temperature range or else the turtle won't bask at all, and will suffer digestion problems.
i've had halogen before, they are perfectly safe, as long as you don't place them too close to the basking place, 6-7 inches is ok.
also what brand do you have, double check the reliability.

yeah, those are good, i've had them before - turtle loved it.
BUT i must say, if you accidently tap on the dome, or bulb, or knock it off they die immediatly. they only last 1-2 months because they are fragile. don't touch the bulb with your fingers, the oils on your skin might kill the bulb, its that fragile. but while i had it the turtle loved it, and enjoyed basking underneath, it can burn the basking dock if it gets too close though, so 6-7 inches not too close
