keeping the heat up in a Reptile Cage.?
i have a 40 gal Reptile Aquarium and i cant seem to get the heat up. i am using a 100 watt red bulb and an UTH mat. it stays around 76 and cant get it up higher...do i need to use a while bulb at a higher wattage? i need it around 90 degrees. also no reptile is in the cage just yet.
also i do have a blanket over 3/4 of the cage.
what do you have on the top? When I had snakes I used a heating pad on one side and screen top covered with a thin cloth like a pillow case leaving the corner slightly open to allow plenty of air
