Reptile Mercury Vapor Bulb
If i buy a Phillips Mercury Vapor Bulb will it do the same thing as one made for reptiles?

the phillips brand one is sold at home depot and im wondering because its like $30 cheaper then the other one. will it still produce heat and UV like the ones from the pet store?

No, they aren't designed to produce UVB like the reptile bulbs. I'm a cheapskate and get about 50% of my Reptile Supplies from Home Depot, Lowes, wholesale gardening sites etc... But these bulbs are one of the few things you pretty much HAVE to get from a reptile/pet supplier
