Reptile Uv Lights
What is the best pet for me?

I want a reptile or amphibian. I want one that is relatively inexpensive to care for. It has to be able to live in a 20 gallon or 10 gallon tank. I would prefer not to have to buy a UV light for it, although I will if I have to. Do you have any suggestions?
Almost forgot, no snakes. My mom is terrified of them and won't let me get one.

A crested gecko or leopard gecko would be great for you. They're cute, relatively easy to care for, and come in tons of different colors. My mom adores both and she's terrified of snakes as well. If you can, try to get a 20 gallon tank since both geckos would appreciate the extra space. Make sure to do plenty of research on the pet that you choose and get all of the necessary supplies. Leopard geckos eat crickets, and crested geckos can eat a pre-made mix called Repashy crested gecko MRP. Neither of them need special lighting but they need a 12 hour light cycle to regulate their "internal clocks". You can just use a regular incandescent light bulb for that. Leopard geckos need a UTH (under-tank heating pad) heated to 88-90 degrees F to lay on so they can digest their food properly. Crested geckos just need their enclosures to be around 75 degrees F during the day. Good luck choosing a pet!
