Give Your Pet Leopard Gecko an Essential Habitat

The minimum enclosure for a pair of leopard geckos is approximately 40cm x 30cm base and 25cm tall, though the larger the enclosure the better for their activity and more room to grow. A net rate cap will prevent leaks and adequate ventilation. The leopard geckos are slow but "escapist", if given the chance. However, once they escaped, they usually do not go far as they look for hot areas for their hiding places. For a substrate, it can be 5 cm of a "bed" of surf, turf, mix (recommended for recycling animal waste, which is normally always accumulate in a corner), shells, or just paper. You may add bark, logs or other decorations, but avoid sharp edges. One or two heat sources are recommended, such as a stone heater for reptiles, and / or a bulb of no more than 25W. You can also use black or infrared light, which can be left turned on at night because the reptiles do not see wavelengths. Assembling the terrarium with cold and warm places to enable the snake to regulate its body temperature depending on where it is located.

To provide water, a tray of 10x5cm with water allows the gecko to cool itself during warm weather or inside a warm room temperature. Keep the water clean and clear and, if possible, in a shallow dish to prevent the gecko from drowning not to mention the water from going bad to quickly. Provide extra dish or container for zophobas or mealworms as an option.

Never place two males in the same place or male with a female that was with a male because the smell of the female can be mistaken as male. Beyond the disagreements between male leopard geckos, these reptiles are the most gentle and harmless with tiny teeth that are unable to hurt more than a cricket.
