Tree Frogs care(terrerium setup using water)?
i have noticed some people have a large water area in their terrariums, i have bought a Exo Terra 45x45x60 terrarium with plants, heat mat, waterfall with fogger, thermostat etc etc. is it safe and worthwhile to convert a third into a water area with external filter. can you give me some web pages or suggestions, pictures to see how it can be done or is it better to not do it. i havent bought any frogs yet and iam open to suggestions. i have a hog nose snake and had him for years so im not a complete beginner when it comes to reptiles, but iam a little unshaw as to how to care for the frogs properly. books dont offer practical experience. Thankyou
its ok aslong as the frog has an easy exit of the water should it fall in, some treefrog species cannot swim very well at all,
also while most tree frog species should be ok with it some species (such as giant waxy monkey frog) wont be,
as for a website have a search on http://www.vivariumforum.com/ and if u want a book with good advice, its big it kinda pricey (but can be got second hand pretty cheap) but Amphibians in Captivity by marc staniszewski is a pretty good book with loads of idea for viv's (inculding ones like u suggested) and info on very species u can think of
Terrarium Reptiles, Fish waterfalls, caves, amphibians snake
