What is the difference between normal CFL and reptile CFL?
I know all reptile CFLs advertise for UVB radiation, but even the normal CFL have mercury content in it and produce UV radiation, I don't know how much, but as per wiki, it produces.
So need to know will normal CFL sufficient for turtles?
Will the common mercury vapor lamp, available in market work for UVB requirement for turtles? If so then what wattage rating and at what distance should be kept.
normal cfl lamps illuminates because of ultraviolet light, but.it has a coating from inner side of it which prevents exposure of uv rays.
othe clf which provide black light, expose UVC rays which are dangerous for turtle's skin.
Reptile Uv lamps are designed to provide UVB and UVA rays in a particular frequency which is needed for them.
